Overview of the 87th Annual Training Conference & Vendor Show
The 87th Annual Training Conference & Vendor Show is confirmed for September 4 - 7, 2018 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, Bay View Tower, San Diego, CA.

CPPCAs annual training conference & vendor show is the organizations primary venue for bringing our members the opportunity to network with peers, be introduced to our vendors, new technologies and services, and most importantly to take advantage of the tremendous training opportunities that the conference offers. 

We are seeking training presentations that capture the future state of the field, that offer participants a unique view of mandates and requirements such as Evidence Based Practices, 2011 Public Safety Realignment, as well as, cutting-edge research-based models that address the various issues and concerns that affect community corrections, public safety, educational, judicial, and social service.

Target Audience
Most of the conference participants are active duty or retired probation officers, parole agents, or correctional officers.  Once certified, CPPCA will be able to offer up to 24 hours of STC credit.

Selection Process
The CPPCA Conference Training Committee will review and select presentations that demonstrate the greatest potential to contribute to the quality of the conference.  The conference theme should be kept in mind.  Topics must be consistent with the mission of CPPCA and be of value and benefit to our members and conference attendees. The committee will give the greatest consideration to proposals that incorporate and represent Evidence-based Practices, Best
Practices, proven solutions or would add to the professional develop of the membership of CPPCA.

All submissions will be judged on the following criteria:

· Overall Quality

· Timeliness and relevance of the topic

· Participant engagement and appeal

· Well-defined focus with clearly stated learner objectives

· Presenters professional background and presentation experience

CPPCA reserves the right to edit accepted proposals and biographical sketches prior to publication.

CPPCAs programs are strictly non-commercial.  If your program is selected, you will be required to refrain from the direct marketing and promotion of your products and services during your session. 

Presenters are also required to refrain from use of harsh language or pointed humor that disparages the rightful dignity or social equity or status or any individual or group.

Approximately twelve proposals will be selected for presentation at the conference. You will be notified of the Conference Planning Committees decision in writing on or about February 2018.

Conference Schedule
All presentations will be four hours in length including scheduled breaks.  Training will take place on the following dates Tuesday, 9/04/18, Wednesday 9/05/18, Thursday 9/06/18, and during a plenary session from 8 am to 12 noon on Friday 9/07/18.

As a non-profit organization, CPPCA does not provide an honorarium for presenters.  Selected presenters may be reimbursed for travel-related expenses including meals and lodging.  Presenters are encouraged to participate in the entire conference at the full conference rate.  Online registration and registration forms will be available on our website at cppca.org.

Requests can be submitted electronically by using the online form or can be emailed directly to CPPCA Executive Director, Michelle Nesbitt at michelle@cppca.org.  Using the guidelines below please submit by midnight Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

If a presentation is submitted via email, please follow these guidelines:

· Cover sheet with Presenters contact information. 

· Proposals must be typed or word processed.

· The presenters curriculum vitae/resume and a biography must be included with the proposal.

· A syllabus, lesson plan, and three learning objectives (learning objectives are required to certify for STC and please be reminded that each course is four hours in length.)
